The RPMS module contains databases of Road Inventory, Road Condition, Maintenance History, and Budget/Cost that are used for the performance analysis, prioritization analysis, and treatment strategy analysis that can be incorporated with GIS Application system. Reports of the database information and the results from the analysis modules can also be viewed. As an initial phase of the project, it will only cover collection of all of the database information (that will be stored in MySQL or PostgreSQL database software) and develop the most appropriate RPMS Model adapting the mentioned analysis modules using a stand alone visual basic program. The final Module of RPMS will be a web-based application which is accessible by registered Department of Rural Roads (DOR) sector users using a PHP interface program to link with the database for the analysis and report views with GIS applications. Raw data information can also be submitted online using the web forms which eliminates manual data integration. An algorithm is included to check the data entry for errors and duplication. A User Login interface is necessary to provide a localized access of information for selected authorized users. The system also requires a Linux-based web server which runs the PHP program for the operations and MySQL or PostgreSQL for the database processing. The realization of RPMS will be a breakthrough in the maintenance division of the DOR in which decisions of getting the right maintence work schedules are carried out with the aid of a computerized system that will eventually hasten the work in just a click of a button. But before the actualization, hardwork must be done in the data collection for the database entry which is the most tedious part. Furthermore, results from the analysis using the RPMS model should be carefully evaluated as they might not fit the actual conditions.
