One proverb goes like this, “There is no other place like home.” For nomads, the saying is not their philosophical guide as they continue to wander and search for a better place in acquiring resources for their livelihood.  For others, home is a better place to stay especially that it could give them comfort.  But when opportunities come which are far from home, the only option would be staying away from home as traveling could be tiresome and affects one’s personal budget. In a busy workplace, the only chances of going back home are during long holiday breaks.

In a modern society where there is a stiff competition in terms of career, people would need to stay away from home in order to survive while leaving their parents at home unattended (for elderly parents).  For practical reasons, other people send their parents to institutions such as care homes where they are getting the right and better care. Others would hire a care giver which their parents could stay home with while being in their respective workplaces. Others would sacrifice their work just to take care of their parents by themselves. But, it really depends on every situation for every person considering the practicality and/or the amount of love they give to their parents.

Elderly parents like to stay at their own homes as they are filled with sentimental memories during the past days of their lives and there is no other place like home that they could stay happily.
